Course Descriptions

UNOH Yoga Studio Intermediate (Monday 5:30 - 6:30p.m.), Instructor: Amy Wildermuth
If you are ready to expand your yoga practice beyond the basic poses and are comfortable doing these poses, then you will benefit from this intermediate class. Participants must have prior yoga experience and have a good understanding of a variety of poses. Class members will be challenged to try different poses and variations of the basic poses to develop their practice. Modifications will still be offered to everyone! Class will end with a final relaxation for the mind to compliment the prior work of the body.

Beginner Yoga (Monday 6:45 - 7:45 p.m.), Instructor: Amy Wildermuth
This class welcomes everyone, but especially focuses on those new to yoga. This class teaches the basics of yoga, including breathing, poses and relaxation. Modifications demonstrated and encouraged. Enjoy the gentle stretches, and traditional yoga poses in a non-competitive environment. Everyone is encouraged to practice within their own abilities. Class ends with a final relaxation period to complete your practice for the day.

Beginners II Yoga (Tuesday 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.), Instructor: Cheryl Steinwedel
The Hatha Beginners II class is for people new to yoga or people who have yoga experience but prefer the slower pace of this class. It includes yoga poses (asanas), breathing practices (pranayama), and relaxation (Savasana). This class is perfect for those who need to relax and let go of stress, want to increase strength and flexibility, and want to learn how to breathe properly. To take this class, you must be able to get down to and up from the floor. This class ends with a 15 minute relaxation.

Slow Flow (Thursday 5:30-6:30 p.m.), Instructor: Meredith Bond
This class is designed for those who have experienced basic yoga poses and are keen to find even more fluidity between the breath and body. Inspired by vinyasa yoga, this class will keep you moving through linking movements with each breath but at a calm and steady pace. Newer students will enjoy the slower pace of this class to gain insight of the poses while continuing to move. Advanced students will reap great benefit by slowing down what can become repetitious movements, allowing them the opportunity to gain a newer, profound understanding of each asana. Proper alignment and deeper stretches will still be highlighted in this practice. Modifications given. To take this class, you must be able to get down to and up from the floor.

Beginner Yoga (Saturday 8:00-9:00 a.m.), Instructor: Allison Dye
An open level class great for beginners and for those with experience that prefer a slower flow. A perfect practice for our bodies in the morning within a welcoming environment. Modifications and enhancements given so you may practice with intention. End your practice with a guided 15 minute relaxation. This class also offers a corresponding book study of "The Yamas and Niyamas: Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice by Deborah Adele".eryone! Explore how well the fusion of these two movements complement each other and will enhance your practice. Expect sun salutations infused with abdominal exercises, warrior sequences enhanced with ballet movements, floor sequences balancing core engagement and focus on lengthening your peripheral muscles. End the experience with a period of meditation to restore the spirit.

Intermediate Pilates Fusion (Saturday 9:15-10:15 a.m.), Instructor: Allison Dye
For the yoga enthusiast that wants to improve their muscle balance and core strength. For the Pilates enthusiast who wants to improve their flexibility and standing balance with progressive muscle relaxation at the end of class.

All Yoga and Pilates classes are $5.00 per class when you register and prepay for 10 week session. Space is limited to 15 per class. Drop-ins are welcome at $8.00 per class if not full.

The yoga studio is equipped with everything you need for class…Yoga Mats, Straps, Blocks, Blankets and Eye Pillows for Relaxation.
